Pain ≠ Tissue Damage

Did that just blow your mind? Are you surprised by that statement?

There is a spectrum of musculoskeletal issues. Suffering a broken leg from a side tackle does indeed hurt, for good reason!

However, after the tissue has healed (bony healing 8-12 weeks), should it still hurt? Probably not!

Think of “phantom limb pain”. When someone has an amputation, there is literally no tissue there to send pain signals to the brain - but people still experience pain!

Why?

That’s because we have a lot of pain perception in the brain and sometimes with pain those signals from tissue to brain get a little jumbled.

The cool thing?

MOVEMENT (or should I say MVMT) can help those jumbled signals reorganize.

!!!

Better than meds.

Here is ONE article, among MANY, that speak to this topic. Enjoy!
